I've never said that I'm a particularly deep person, and this will become readily apparent with my movie selection. I used to see every movie that came out, but over the last few years, I kind of stopped caring about movies. I will go to movies, but I sure don't look forward to them like I used to. I think they have just disappointed me one too many times.
Having said that, I am harkening back to my youth, and the wonderful movies that were screened at slumber parties for my movie selection (as an aside, it's way too hard to pick a favorite movie). The parties themselves were never that fun, but if this movie was playing, I was thrilled:
I'm not kidding, this movie is kind of amazing. So amazing that I may or may not have the Gold edition. It stars an Oscar winner, and Shannen Doherty, so you just think about that. So Julie, you can keep your depressing prison movie, and I'll practice my sweet dance moves with Jeff Malene so I can one day get on D-TV!

Bonus for the Day
A few weeks ago, a neighbor delivered a surprise meal to me. . . so nice! She wanted to reciprocate for a dinner that I had helped her family with. I've often wondered how I would get a meal if I don't get sick or have a baby. I am assured that the meals aren't necessarily worth going through these events. However, for this single gal with a condiment filled fridge - it was appreciated! Thanks, neighbor!

Shark Tank Discovery
Oh how I love the show Shark Tank . . . where entrepeneurs try and get a deal for their big ideas from successful businessmen. A few months ago, I was captivated by this cupcake tower that easily is put together and stores flat. I thought it was genius . . . yet they didn't get a deal. Sometimes, though, the businesses become successful just by being featured on the show. So, I checked out the Smart Baker on my own and ordered this little delight. I thought it worked perfectly at our March Relief Society birthday dinner as we we were able to stack many mini cupakes and I thought the display looked great. Even better, at the end of the night I could take it apart and store it in the bag and be done.
And a few weeks ago another genius product was featured that I am tempted to get as well. You know the space between your car seat and the center console? Where papers drop and petrified French fries have gone? This product goes in the space between those two things making it so nothing falls in the gap . . . the Drop Stop. What a great idea!

Wonderful Waffles
One magical day a month of so ago, our favorite Saturday's Waffle truck was doing a remote spot in the morning at KUTV. . . which is right downtown by my office. They tweeted that the first five people each hour would get a free waffle. I let my co-worker know of this exciting news . . . and this is what was on my desk when I arrived at work. . . with a scrumptious bananas foster waffle. What could be better.
Melinda and I have decided that when I come into town for my regular and sacred hair appointment, that we should make a habit of stopping for waffles first thing in the morning. How else will I end up at Olympus Hills Mall between 8 am and noon on a Saturday morning from my home down south. Well, we tried it this last Saturday and it was a-mazing. And, because we're friends and I know you won't judge us . . . we may have had four delicious treats. We tried the mango and coconut waffle, the s'more, the caprese and the maple bacon with jalapeno syrup. Best way to start the day!

Blog Challenge #2: A Picture of Your Favorite Movie
Get excited my sisters . . . I'm getting back to this challenge. And, this one is easy for me. Kristen mentioned the other day that she thinks it's odd that amongst my favorite romantic comedy movies that I also have a love for the Shawshank Redemption. I love it! I get sucked in watch it whenever it's on TBS or TNT. I remember when it came out, my brother, Brent had seen it and loved it but said that the language and subject matter was harsh since it was indeed a prison movie. I did eventually watch it and loved it. The motto, "get busy living - or get busy dying" was often quoted as a theme by my co-workers. What is your favorite movie?

Super Bowl Sunday
I'm still playing blog catch up. I ended up needing a new computer and have learned that I hate Windows8! Boo to this upgrade! My favorite programs just don't work the same and I am strugglilng to say the least.
Anywhooo . . . Super Bowl Sunday is exciting as we do a competition with a grid to see who will come closest to the score of each quarter and then the overall game . . . with prizes to boot. I couldn't tell you who won this year - but I know we had fun - especially Jacob who taped up the grid to the TV so he could regularly look and make plans for different scoring scenarios to help him win the big prize.
Jacob was fixed on the game all night.

Guess What...
Chicken butt! I don’t care who you are, that joke will
always be funny. So my real guess what is that I got a new job! I.am.thrilled.
This has been a long time coming, and it took awhile to get the right fit, but
I could not be more pleased. I am excited to have an 11 minute commute, to work
with old friends, and to hopefully becoming a nice person again. I cleaned out
my personal effects this week, and look—4 years of my life fit in 1/2 of a box!
I
love this quote from The Office, “If I had to, I could clean out my desk in five
seconds, and nobody would ever know that I’d ever been here. And I’d forget,
too.”—Ryan Howard. Preach, Ryan Howard!
I am thankful that I had so many people praying for me,
and I know that is what finally helped to seal the deal. That may sound silly, but trust me, I needed some divine intervention on this one. Blessed. Grateful.
Onward and upward.
