We love gathering at Dad's/Grandpa's on Sundays. We love being together - especially the kids. One particular Sunday, Sara brought glasses that were a big hit. Also, the kids love to have videos taken of them. Davis and Jena are so funny together.

General Women's Meeting
We had started a family tradition of going to the General Women's meeting together with the ladies in our family in the spring. And, then, I got a stake calling in the Relief Society and am now busy planning and executing events for the stake. We offered service projects and food starting at 4:00 pm - which means we started at 10:00 am to get everything ready. (This was in addition to the shopping and prep we had been doing in the weeks leading up to this). We had a good turnout and completed 100 birthday bags, 13 quilts and fed 250 ladies. But, it was exhausting, and I just really wanted to be with my family.

Stake YW President, Katie, was a huge help to me.
Lilli sent me this pic from their celebration saying they missed me. I was glad to see it - and had a little tear - so tired from my day and wanting to be with my family. How will I figure this out so I can be with them and still do my calling. Hmmm. . . .

Elton John Concert
Melinda got tickets to the Elton John concert from a vendor. So, we planned a nice evening starting with dinner at Tiburon in Sandy. The meal was delicious!
We allowed plenty of time to get to the Maverik Center after dinner. Little did we know that there were be traffic with several other events there, accidents on the freeway, etc. We were on the freeway - about to exit - for almost two hours. Not being able to go anywhere is very frustrating. It's hard to decide to give up when you have invested lots of time in getting there. We did finally make it. The regular parking lot was full - so we had to go to far away lot - and still pay and get to the concert along with everyone else who was stuck with us. I had seen on Twitter that he was only on the 3rd song. We got to our seats - and boy was it crowded. We were stuck in between everyone else. Melinda and I decided that it was not our favorite concert. Turns out we didn't know that many of his songs. And, it was just so uncomfortable. But, we made it - which was our goal. And, good thing that dinner was good.
Saturday Volleyball, Waffles and Soccer
We like to support our nieces and nephews in their activities. This summer we got to see Grace play on a volleyball team and Maggie playing on a soccer team. One Saturday, in between both games, waffles were also consumed. What a great day!
And, she got to play with her friend, Alyssa
Lilli's Grandpa Red makes an effort to go to games too . So nice!
